You are lying on a large delivery table surrounded by medical staff in scrubs and masks. You are huffing and puffing as the next powerful contraction builds in your core. You are shaking and sweating all over your body. The incredible urge to push is overwhelming. The head doctor is checking your passage to see if your dilation has been completed. Your face is flushed and you feel feverish and sick. All you want to do is bear down and push all the pressure away building in your lower stomach. Two midwives are standing next to you at the top of the table. They are waiting for the doctor’s instructions. They are in position, ready to hold your legs open and wide for pushing. The head doctor’s fingers continue to explore deep in your passage. The midwives talk to you, telling you to breath and focus. You are so frustrated and scared. You want to push so badly. The waiting is agonizing. Time seem to have stopped as the head doctor reaches further inside of you to establish your progress.
